  • H-1B Transfer question

    Dear Immihelp,
I'm on H-1B, recently i got a better full time opportunity. The new company had filed my labor and said it will take 5 more weeks for my H1-b transfer. If my present company knows about this, fire me and cancel/revoke H1-B, how bad will my situation be. Please kindly explain.

    Hello, Karanni.

Your employer can revoke your H1B anytime. So, do not overly worry about it. This is something one has to live with on an H1B status. The moment your visa is revoked, you are Out of Status. But, all employers generally do not revoke your visa just because you intend to switch visa holders / jobs. If you have concerns about your current employer revoking your visa, do not share this new opportunity with them till you get your visa transfer acknowledgement receipt.

    I hope this helps.

    Wishing you luck.

    Cheers,
These are my personal thoughts. I am not a professional.

    Wishing you luck.
