Leaving a country once h1b is filed and under process

Hello,

I am currently on my F-1 visa. I will be on my opt from January and my h1B will be filed by the company in april. If incase my h1b will get selected from the lucky draw and will be under process, is it advisable to go to India (i.e., home country) in may??
During this period, my h1b might not be approved as the processing time is 2-6 months.
Can anyone give me the suggestions on visiting the home country when the h1b is under processing will affect coming back to US.

No, it is not advisable to travel when the H1B is pending. It will be better not to travel between April and Oct at all. But if you have to travel, make sure you plan very carefully.
