H1 b visa transfer in canada or uk

Hi,

I changed my company and I got my new i797 approved. My current i94 is till may 2014 and my new i797 till 2016 may. I cannot travel to India. will that cause any issues at US consulate Canada or UK? should I get my i94 by travelling to Canada or UK? is it possible for a H1B transfer or extn to be stamped in Canada? If I can go to Canada should I need a visa to enter and how long for my visa to be stamped in Canada or UK?

Isn't there an I-94 at the bottom of the new approval notice? Doesn't the notice state that extension of stay has been approved?

Yes, I-94 is received at POE and it determines how long you are allowed to stay in the US. But USCIS can also extend your permitted duration of stay. They do that as part of the H1 petition (if requested on the petition) and the approval notice will have a new I-94. The wording of the approval notice will also clearly state that extension of stay has been approved. Once you have that you are allowed to stay in the US as long as the approval notice allows.
