H1B Approval - how long?

Hi,
I currently have b1/b2 visa and a company who offered me a job will apply for a h1b visa for me in april.
as far as i could understand the ability to use the h1b entering the us is only in october.

1. How long does it usually takes to know the visa is apporved?
2. is the h1b stamping usually set for september (in your home country consulate)?

[Answer] Once your company apply for H1B visa in April 2014, probably this time again its lottery which you need to go through. Once selected in lottery, you need to attend Consulate Interview process and entire USA in Oct 2014.

2. is the h1b stamping usually set for september (in your home country consulate)?
[Answer]Most of the employers suggest to go for Interview process during Sept, as it close your entry date in US.
