Trying for H1, will it effect my B1/B2?

Hi.

I currently have the visitor's visa (B1/B2), but want to try for H1. But I am wondering if in any case, my H1 visa is not accepted, will it have any kind of adverse effect on my B? As in will I be restricted in any way while entering the USA, like being given "less duration of stay" at the port of entry...or anything like that?

Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.
