My L1-B visa filed by my current employer is expiring on October 3rd, 2005. I am switching to a new employer who filed for my H1. My H1 I-94 is approved but it is effective from October 1st, 2005. My joining date with the new employer is October 15th, 2005. My concern is during this interim period (October 3rd till October 14th), will I be considered "Out of status" or illegal as my employment with the new company is beginning on October 15th. My current employer will pay me only till September 30th. Please advise if I will land into any issues.
