Hi,
I was being laid-off on Nov 8th, 2013 while I was working on a H-1B VISA. After consulting with an attorney, I applied for extension of stay/change of status VISA to B-2. It makes me eligible to stay until a decision is being made on my petition. Couple of questions that I have is, how can I obtain an I-20 so that instead of being on B-2 I can be transferred to F-1 ? Do I have to wait until my B-2 is being approved or are there any university that can grant me an I-20 ? Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
