H-1B Transfer process

Hi,

I was being recently laid off by a Semiconductor company and they were the one's who filed for my H-1B VISA earlier this year. Is it possible for me to get it transferred to an IT company that has no relation to any engineering services ? Can someone please explain if whether this is possible or not ?
