H1B visa process may remain unfinished/abandoned

Hi,

My employer is filing H1B for me this year. But I may (not confirmed) have plans to leave the firm and go for Post graduation in my home country itself, by June this year. I have two questions:

1) Will my Visa process get abandoned if I leave my company in June? Or I could still carry it forward without my company's involvement in it later?
2) If my Visa process remains unfinished/ gets abandoned, will there be any issue/concern later when I apply for H1B or any other visa after few years?

1. If company withdraws it before approval or USCIS rejects the petition then you will not be cap counted hence will have to apply again in next year's/later year's cap.
