  • L1B to H1B - With current employer. COS or new consular?

    Hi,
I tired to search for posts for my below case, But I did not find any relevant posts since creating new thread.

I'm currently on L1B and my visa valid until Feb-2015. My current employer agreed to file H1B filing for 2014.

Need help on the right process to file H1B and required documents.

Hope this case may be straight but wish to make sure I understand the process and ask my employer to file in right process.

If my H1B gets approved, hope I can continue work on my L1 with same employer and post Oct 1st 2014, I can be on H1B.

And my dependents are on L2 and in US, do I need to apply for H4 now it self or is that a different process?

appreciate your help on this regard!!

    Thanks you.

Yes you need to apply L2 to H4 for your dependents too. L1 to H1 as COS as well as L2 to H4 as COS can all be filed together.

Advisable to avoid travel for self and dependents outside US during this period.

Also, post COS , when you travel outside US, you need to go for H1 stamping if you want to return on H1 visa.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
