Hi,
I am employed on H1B visa and wish to start a company. Going through some threads on this forum it looks like I can start a company as a passive investor in LLC and hire a manager/CEO to run the same.
So the questions I have are:
1) Can I start a company from scratch i.e. as a 100% investor? I.e. like an owner and register the company under my sole name etc?
2) If I hire a US citizen/resident as CEO what kind of guidance can I legally provide while still being on H1B visa?
3) When I first hire a CEO I would need to decide his salary and other terms and conditions. Wouldn't that be considered as "working" for the company?
Moreover if answer to (1) in above is YES; then can someone please provide me guidance on what is the procedure to start/register a LLC in US (CA state). How long is the process etc?
Excuse me for asking so many questions in one thread. I am really that confused right now
