Passport renewal issue during H1B processing

Hi,

Here is my scenario

1) I am applying H1B visa for this year in the first week of April 2014.

2) My passport is getting expired on June 2014. But for H1 application, I am submitting this current passport copy.

3) I will renew my passport by third/ last week of April.

4) Will it impact my chances of H1B ?

I heard that renewed passport is required only at the time of stamping and not required at the time of H1 application. But I am not sure how true it is. Can some one please throw some lights on this as my expiry is just 3 months from H1 application
