I am currently working in the US on an H1B Visa.
My wife (who is currently in India) got a job offer from a company in the US and they have just filed her H1B Visa application. The company has NOT filed premium processing. What I understand is that the approval / denial may take 2-6 months to come through. Further, even after the approval she will have to get the H1 Visa stamped and can start work only after Oct 1st 2014.
My questions are as follows:
1. Can she apply for an H4 in the meantime and come visit me (H4 approval happens pretty fast).
2. Will the H4 affect the approval of her pending H1?
3. Will being on a stamped H4 affect the stamping of her H1?
