Hi,
I am currently working in US on H1B ( since Dec 2012). My visa is valid till April 2015. I am planning to convert to H4 sometime in next two months and return to work probably after a year. So I have few questions regarding the whole process.
1. Once I get H4 status, will it be valid only till April 2015 or the end date depends on my spouse's H1B(June 2016) ?
2. Am I required to apply for conversion from H4 to H1 before April 2015(my H1B expiry) in order to use the same visa ?
3. How will the H4 to H1 conversion work if I apply after expiration of my H1 petition ?
Request that if somebody faced this kind of experience, please share the same.
