Travel to US on L1 while H1 petition is still being reviewed.

I work in Bangalore. I have applied for FY 2015 H1-B regular cap with Non-Ad degree and my petition is selected in the lottery and current status is "Initial Review". I will be able to join the US employer by 1st Oct 2014 if my petition is approved and I get the Visa.
Now my current company(not H1 employer) is asking me to travel to US on my L1 visa(I already have) for 3-4 months.
I am thinking to travel now and come back to India after 3-4months and go for H1 stamping if the petition is approved by the time I come back from US.
So will my L1 travel have any effect on my petition? or should I be concerned of anything?

I am NOT planning to apply for change of status from L1 to H1 while I will be in US since I want to come back and have a proper exit from the current company.

On second thought , it may affect the duration you could be able to stay in US on your H1 in future. Any time spent in L1 in current trip or previous trips on same L1 would be deducted from H1's limit of 6 Years.

yeah.... I am aware of this fact that any L1 duration will be counted in the H1's 6 year count. thanks for the info.
