Hi all,
Since in many sites we end up hearing negative stories about stamping and sometimes people discourage you from going to a third party country and recommend going to your home country only. I thought from now on I will post all positive experiences related to my immigration, so its useful info for people who will be in the same boat as I am.
I am a FTE at a Hospital since last 8 years in Boston. This is my 3rd visa stamping experience ( Currently my employer has put in paperwork for employer based sponsorship). I have been with the same employer. My Indian passport is of 20 years validity and I had not faced any trouble in stamping interview at all. My first stamping was in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, second time in Kolkata India. I have both my degrees from US, for some who have degrees from outside of US are strongly recommended to go to home country (100 % correct)
I did take canadian visa before hand ( which I applied online took a 2.5 weeks from submission online to receiving passport on hand)
My US visa appt date was on May 28th and I luckily got my return tickets for June 2nd so I have enough time to get my passport.
There was a loomis express tracker for the passport return which took 3 days and on Monday June 2nd, I picked up my passport and in evening I was back to Boston.
Please don't take any cell phones/ car keys to consulate otherwise you will end up having to find a convenience store or restaurant to keep those stuff for a fee.
