Applied for Change of Status (L1B to H1B) Got H1b Receipt Number. Traveling to India

Hello,

My employer has applied for Change of Status (L1B to H1B) and I Got H1b Receipt Number for 2015 and its in Initial Review Status. I am currently on valid I-94. I am now Traveling to India in June for medical emergency of my sister.
My question is -
1. Will it affect the H1b Processing?
2. Does my employer need to notify USCIS that I am going out of country?

I believe you have asked a similar question previously. Your H1 application may be approved but COS would get denied. And you would need to go for H1 visa stamping.

1. Not the petition but COS can get denied.
2. Advisable to inform USCIS to convert it to Consular process.
