H1B Visa Query Given Name/Surname

Hey peeps,

Hope everyone is happy and healthy.
I new here and like others i needed couple of advice of my H1B visa. My company filed my H1B for current year. And as per the latest update i was lucky enough to get selected in lottery.
But here is when troubled starts. I was informed by my managers that you pass has given Name as ASHISH KUMAR and a BLANK surname.

This is not acceptable as far as H1b visa go and i cant travel with this passport.

I am totally depressed over the turn of events as i was really looking for this opportunity.
Need advice from you people what should be my next step.
Can i get my passport corrected within given time frame and travel or do i need to apply for H1b next year as the passport will be a new one.

Latest update:Selected in Lottery but Filling is not done yet.

Dont understand what you mean by " you pass has given Name as ASHISH KUMAR and a BLANK surname" .

Firstly, how you know you got selected in the lottery? Did you get a receipt number?

Many people get H1 visa without a Surname and one is not rejected for this reason.

I am Sorry.. I should have written it properly.
What i meant is, I was told by my managers that in your passport the Given name Field is mentioned as Ashish Kumar and Surname is blank.

I didn't get my receipt number as this is against organizations policy for which i work. My managers informed me about the lottery results.
