H4 to F1/OPT/H1

Hi,
I have recently moved to the US and am on H4 visa. I just completed my masters in nursing from India.
Is there a way for me to get a job in the US.
Can someone give me the details of the steps involved. H1 would be a long process is there a short term course (not very expensive) I could enroll into that would make me eligible for OPT.
Any Pointers in this regards would be appreciated.
