Question regarding H1b to F1 switch
I currently work with Amazon in Seattle, USA on an H1b visa. I plan on attending school on a F1 visa. School starts in a month and I will be filing for a change of
status within next two weeks, while residing in the United States. Once I file the change of status, I plan to quit my job with Amazon, thereby losing H1b.
I understand that the change of status may take 3-6 months to complete.
During this period, Am I legally allowed to enroll in classes? I will have a change in status request pending, an expired H1b and no F1 in hand at the point.
All help is really appreciated! I'm on a very short timeline to understand my options here.
