change of employers on H1

Dear All,

I am on OPT after completing my masters adn valid until May-2006. I also have my H1 date starting from April-2006 from company A. But now im planning to move to another cmpy B by early next year and wanted to know my status would be okay if I start my new H1 application by January-2006?

Also my brother is on H1 now and even hez planning to move to another company by end of this year. How early can he apply for his new H1 without loosing the status.

I really need your help and appreciate your suggestions.
