H1B Extension/Renewal beyond 6 years and not traveled to USA

Hi All,

I have H1B visa and it got expired in 2010 ,I never traveled to US with this VISA,

Recently i got an opportunity in US and would like to apply for extension/Renewal for my H1B visa.

Is it possible to extension/Renewal through consulate notification.Please advise.

Yes, It can be possible to renew your already approved petition however you need to have a valid visa to travel to the USA even though your petition got renewed.

When was your petition filed?It is valid for 6 years if you had not traveled. If traveled to US then from the last held H1 status plus 6 years
