H1 B Visa Transfer - Continue with Same employer

I m working for company A on H1B for 2 yrs, Company B has agreed to file for my H1, how long can I continue to work with Company A after I get approval for H1B from company B.
Can I continue to work from comapny A for 1-2 months and then switch to comapny B? what are the risks involved, will comapny A know abt my change of status?

I might be visiting India in these 1-2 months so want to change the employer after I come back.

You can continue to work for company A until the petition with company A expires.

One more Q - If I have petition filed by both the companies and both are approved, is it advisable to travel to india during that period.Will I have problems at Port of Entry?
I would like to start with Company B after I come back form India.
