Visa stamping from Canada

Hello All,

Anybody wants to share any recent experience with H1B processing from Canada? Basically I have never done my visa processing from Canada and I have no idea how to start. Below are the steps that I am planning to take:
1. Get Canada visa (either submit the doc online or go to NY and get the stamping done - do all the family need to attend or only I can go and get for my wife?
2. Book a visa data (Toronto or Ottawa)
3. Collect all the documents (I work for fortune 50 software company and my background is computer engg)
4. Make reservations (any idea for how long should I plan - assuming I get the visa date on Monday?)
5. Visa interview?

Couple of questions:
1. How long should I plan my trip for?
2. What address should I give to collect my passport? Is there any way to collect the passport instead of they mailing?

Some more details about me:
I am working as a full time employee for fortune 50 software company. This will be 4th h1 b visa extension?

or the best option is to drop Canada idea and plan for India trip

Any help with this regard is appreciated
