H4-H1-Husband h1 extension and my h1 approved same time

1)My husband's H1b is getting extended in a week and his company is requesting details in this regard to proceed with the extension. Since My H1B got approved and effective from October 1st -2014, will he require to inform his company that change of my legal status from H4 to H1b and not required to extend my H4 petition through his company.




2) If we do not inform what will be the consequences




3)In future, I want to convert form H1B status to H4 status, can he approach his company for my h4 or should I convert on my own.
