Hi. My friend was born on 30 SEP 1979 and his birth certificate states the same. His parents changed the date of birth to 30 JUN 1978 in order to admit him to school earlier. When applying for the passport he continued with changed date of birth (30 JUN 1978) as all school documents stated the same.
Now his passport and all other documents except birth certificate states his date of birth as 30 JUN 1978. His birth certificate states his date of birth as 30 SEP 1979.
As my friend looks very young (looks like 18), the officer asked for his original birth certificate. He came back with form 221(g). There is no way the officer could doubt his date of birth. In fact my friend doesn't remember his real date of birth and celebrates his birthday on 30 JUN.
Now if he produces the original birth certificate, he is going to be questioned on other documents. Local muncipal office will not change or give new birth certificate with the new date of birth.
What should he do now?
