US Customs - Fine

I recently entered US through EWR airport.

I came through H1Visa which is valid until July 2017. The Immigration was fine, but at customs the office checked my bag and found fruits. She filled in form AI 591 - Notice of Alleged violation with civil penalty 300$ and asked me to send money order for that and i should be good. I already sent the payment and confirmed with them.

Will it be problem with my future US Visits?

It is strange that they have a problem with fruits but they would like to continue to allow Ebola patients into the US.
