In a tricky situation with the passport 6 month validity requirement

Hello All,

I'm currently working on H-1B visa and it is valid and stamped on my Indian passport until September 2015. My passport expires in November 2015.

I plan to visit India in December 2014 and return to US in January 2015.

I want to know if I would require to renew my passport before traveling to India? Will I have any difficulties at Port of Entry while returning if I don't renew it?

6 Month requirement does not apply to Indian passport holders. As long as your visa and passport both are valid it is fine.

By the way how Jan 2015 to Sept/Nov 2015 is less than 6 Months?

Thanks for your reply. I thought the 6 month requirement kicked in after the visa expired meaning passport had to be valid for 6 months from September 2015?
