Can I file H1 extension without filing amendment?

Hi All,

Initially on H1 visa I worked for one year for Company A - Client Z(USA)

Then I went to India for 3-4 months and came back to USA to work for Company A - Client Y(USA)

I got the latest LCA. But my H1 amendment has not yet been filed.

Now Can I change company in USA? That means can I apply for a H1-B extension? Will there be any problems? Kindly update.

Can I file H1 extension without filing amendment?

You need to apply H1 transfer (New petition using your already approved petition to avoid Cap count). Its good to amend the H1 as you have changed the client and USCIS does not have that information however I feel you will be okay to apply for the transfer.
