hi all , im currently living and working in england but want to go workingover im the states but i dont have a job lined up etc would it be possible to get a h1 without a specific job so that i can get a job in a sandwich/coffee shop or bar etc ? as would be living with my friend who is on a scholarship thanks gaz !

H1B visa works a little differently. It requires a sponsor/employer for filing a petition for someone to get a H1B. Also, H1B is granted for specialized jobs like Software Engineer, Financial Analyst etc.
