can my wife take H4 visa interview without me - My status got converted recently

Hi,

Recently my visa status has changed from L1 to H1.
My wife has travelled back to India (she was having L2 which has expired now). If she has to travel back to India she needs a valid VISA and now she has to have H4.

Presently I am in USA and I got pre-approved I-94 with my H1B papers, which is valid till next year. This permits me to stay in USA based on I-94 and with out H1B stamping though my previous L1 is expired.

Without me being appeared for H1B stamping can my wife take the approval papers and appear for H4?

In that case, if my wife can go directly for stamping using my H1 papers, I will not have any physical H1B stamp in my passport but, she will have H4 stamped in her passport.
Won't there be any objection from the Consulate?
