Need the language preference of my H1 interview changed to english

I accidently chose a regional language instead of english to be my mode of interview at the consulate. Now is there a way of explaining my situation to the embassy at the time of my interview to change my language preference to English.

please note that i have already finished my OFC/biometric appointment and when i contacted the customer care they said the only way to change the language is to miss the consular interview and make a new appointment which I obviously dont want to do.

I really appreciate any help on how to deal with this issue.
