H4 to H1

Hi,

My spouse would be travelling to US in February end on H4 Visa.
My friends Company is sponsoring H1B visa for my spouse which is to be filed in April2015.

1. If her H1B petition is selected in lottery
a. Will her H4 Visa gets cancelled?
b. If it does not get cancelled, Would she have to submit COS from H4 to H1 to get her H1B petition approved and start working.
c. If her H4 visa does not get cancelled, can she use it to visit India and come back to US using her H4 stamping, though she has an approved H1B petition.

2. If her H1B petition is not selected in lottery, would her H4 visa continue to remain active?
