Quit company and want to take a break. When to leave US on H1B.

Currently I am working for my organization in US with H1B visa. Now I am thinking to quit my organization and take a break due to personal emergency. After I quit I will go back India. Please do let me know how much time I have in my hand since my last working day in my organization. What all documents are needed while exiting from US.
