  • H4 visa extension process please help....

I in India and have my H4 that is expired (oct 2014), my husband is in H1 US. I am planning to go join him. my previous visa was sponsored by my husbands previous employer. Now his new employer is not ready to sponsor H4 so my husband has to sponsor for me, in that case we need to do all the procedures by ourselves, please if u can help me answering this question.

while filing i was asked to create a profile online, where, since my husband's previous employer made all the procedures before, my passport number is tagged to his profile and mail ID. should I ask them to release it before i start creating or can i create a new profile with different email ID

Your best option is have your husband look for an attorney who can file for your H4. It is dependent on your husband H1, he can file it by himself however in your case you are in India better to have it done through an attorney to avoid any complications.

One doesnt need an attorney to schedule visa interview.

I suggest to fill the DS-160 and also create a new profile with a new Id and pay the visa fees. If doesn't work call up Stanley support they should be able to direct.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

        Thanks for the reply...

Thanks sjhamb and rhagvi for your replies, i managed to schedule an interview next week, but now i have a doubt whether should I carry the original I-797 of my husband.or the copy of it is enough? please suggest.

If you can carry the original else copy should be fine too you can say original is with spouse who is in US.
