Hi there,
i went for visa stamping today (8-Apr-2015) as my H1b was amended and I was out of country on emergency. The consular said, my petition information is not updated and took my passport and I797 original with him and told, we'll update you in few days. I did not get any 221(g) etc. So that feels good to me.
My questions are,
1. Since they didnt give me any form 221(g) or any similar forms and took my passport, does that mean my visa is approved?
2. How long does it take to get it verified and receive the passport & I797 back ?
Any similar experiences? I went to Chennai consulate.
