I-94, stamping and POE

Hi All,
Need your valuable advice with the following scenario -

H1B expiring on Sep 30, 2015
Visiting India and returning on Aug 22, 2015
No plans to get stamping done ?

If I have a approved I-797 for H1B Extension till Sep 2018 then at POE can I show the same and get I-94 till Sep 2018 instead of Sep 2015 ?

With I-94 going electronic there is very low to nil chances of one getting I-94 beyond Visa Expiry/Passport expiry, whichever is earliest.

The only way to absolutely ensure you get the I-94 up to new petition expiry is to go for visa stamping.
