Hi guys,
I am currently working on H1B , and it will expire end of September 2015. I also applied for a green card on November 2014 through my wife who is a US citizen. Now, I am currently waiting for the interview to be scheduled since the last 4 months and no update yet. I heard there are delays in processing. So, I was wondering, what if my interview gets scheduled near september or later and I do not get green card until then. My lawyer had mentioned the process will go faster and asked me not to apply for EAD then, which seems to be a big mistake now. I am worried if I should apply for EAD as it takes atleast 90 days to process or wait for the interview until a certain date ? Or should I just ask my company to extend my h1b, it might cost them 5k$ which will be a waste if I do get my gc before my H1B expires. So, due to a wrong decision of not filing for my H1B ,(thanks to my stupid lawyers), I am wondering what to do? I have a few options, but don't know what path to take to avoid getting out of status. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
