  • 221g and VO asked to use VFS dropbox

I attended my H1B interview in chennai consulate first time. I was given 221g to bring project letter, tax documents for 3 yrs, W2 of my US employer, company photos and original US offer letter. When I went second time, VO was happy with all the documents except the project letter. She said this letter is not detailed enough with timelines and marketing analysis and she gave me 221g again and asked me to use VFS dropbox to drop the required document. She did not mention anything else in the 221g

My doubt is should I drop only the asked project letter or should I drop original I797, I129, Passport and visa fees also? I called up consulate and someone answered saying drop only the asked docs and we'll contact you.

It should be greate if any experience users can help me.

    Hi,
Just put the required documents along with a cover-letter to brief up the situation. If the VO has already verified all your other documents, then this should do.

      Hi Veena,

Thanks for your immediate response. After I drop the required document with covering letter, will the consulate ask me to appear personally for stamping or I'll again be asked to drop the passport and fees in dropbox?

      Regards
      JK

              Hi,
I am Vasanta. Mine also same case. They have taken all my H1 papers and just returned my passport and DD and told me to drop some documents in the drop box.

For me, they have checked the option " Your application requires additional documents...etc" .
At the back side of the 221(g), they have asked us to drop ds-156, passport, DD and the required documents.

              Thanks
              Vasanta

For me they checked that Project details options

                Hi,
For me, he checked the project details options and wrote some detail description about the document which I have to drop...In the back side he checked the TTS drop box option and said that...."You no need come again.just drop the required documents in the drop box " this is what happened in my case ....

It seems I want to drop DS156, DS157,passport and DD in the drop box ? right?

                Please clarify........

                Thanks

                  Hi vasantha,

They did not mention anything else behind the 221g form. She just ticket the option "Internal Project description......", behind she ticked to use VFS dropbox to drop this document. That's it.

I am confused if I am required to drop my passport, I797 and I129 along with the project letter or not???

                  Regards
                  JK

                    Hi JK,

Dont worry. Give a call to consulate chennai office and ask them. This would be the better approach. I am also planning to do the same before i drop the documents.

                    Thanks
                    Vasanta
