Passport validity while entering USA

I am currently in US on H1B which is valid till Aug 2016. I am planning for a vacation to India for 3 weeks. My Indian passport is going to expire on 14 JUL 2015, but I will be back on 14 JUN 2015. I was wondering if this can be of any concern? When I land back in US, the passport would be valid for only one more month. And I intend to get it renewed as soon as I come back. Please share your knowledge or similar experiences.

It's advised to renew your passport before your travel to India or at least, while you are in India.

I believe you need a passport valid for at-least six months beyond the date of entry. Even the airlines might refuse your trip when you try to check-in at the airport.
