I have been on a H1 for 5 years. I got married in Oct 2003 and brought my wife on a H4. She got a H4 stamp valid until Oct 2005 along with the I94 since my H1 was expiring in Oct 2005. My company lawyers renewed my H1 in Sept and I got my extension until 2007. They forgot to renew my wife's H4. Now she has been out of status for about 2 months. The company lawyers have asked my wife to go to India and get a new H4. I'm trying to get an emergency appointment since I have to get my stamping done as well. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Do they give the H4 in India without any issues? Can you please let me know is this the only option?
