Hi All,
I am in weird situation, where my H1B extension got approved on Nov-2014 and i don't have my petition documents with me, as they were lost and my employer never received even after applying a duplicate copy as well(I 824). As per USCIS they have sent the documents to my employer address and we have verified through attorney.
Can i know whether it is legal to stay in US without having my approved I 797 petition documents in possession ? I know that we have the 240 days time when we submit the extension processing, but after approval do we have any ?
Also, Is there any way to know my petition end date ? (via my attorney), if i know the end date, can i do the below:
1. Stay in US until my petition end date ?
2. Apply for another extension in case if its going to expire in near by future, without having the original documents in possession
