I had an H4 stamp on my passport which expired on April 3rd 2015.
My I-797 with H-4 extension is valid from Dec 8 2014-Oct 18 2017.
I took a cruise and returned on March 21 2015. The officer at POE reminded me that my visa is about to expire. I told him I have already got my H-4 extension. My visa on the passport was still valid at the time of entry.
My lawyer just informed me that the I-94 admit date is only till April 3rd 2015.
I am really confused. Am I out of status if I continue staying in the US on a valid H-4 extension, but my visa on the passport and I-94 have expired?
Please advise.
