I traveled to US on H1B multiple time between Nov05 and Aug09. In between my company filed second extention which also got expired sometime in Aug2010. However collectively I utilized only 3.5 years of US stay during this H1B.
Next time I travelled on L1B in Jan2011 and stayed in US for 3.5 years. This expired sometime in Jun14. No extention is planned for this visa.
No Green Card process was initiated during any above time.
Now I am outside US back home since Jul2014.
Is it now possible to file H1B extention to utilize the remaining period? or is it too late to “recapture” H1B days spent outside of the US since the Second H1B stamping expired back in Aug2010? Will the H1B have been lapsed by now since it was not extended for such long period?
{A friend of mine in US is assuring me that i can still file renewal of H1B. Per him H1B extentention can be renewed as late as upto 6 years from last stamp expire date. This too with out going to lottery. Per him i can file extention anytime before Aug2016}
