H4 Application through company

I will be getting married in August in India. My company offered to start my wife's H4 application.

Is there any benefit in applying for wife's H4 through company instead of applying on own?

Your employer doesn't need to do anything. You don't need to file any petition. Your wife will need to get her H4 visa stamped using your H1B approval notice. With a valid H4 visa, she will be able to travel with you to U.S. At the POE, both you and your wife will get an I-94 matching your petition expiry date. H4 petitions need to be filed only when your dependents are already inside U.S and they need an extension of stay.
