    H1 timeline Validity

    Hi,

    I am currently in the US on L1 visa and have been in the US for a total of 5 years. My company is planning to apply for H1 visa. Since H1 visa can be obtained for a total of 6 years, would I be given H1 for one year or will the process reset the time when I switch from L1 to H1 and I will have a total of 6 years?

    1 year. Can your employer sponsor your green card? They are the ones losing out on talent if they don't.
