H4 extension applying for driving license

Hi,

I am currently on h4 visa which expires on sept 19,2015. Visa extension has been filed.
I am also planning to apply for my drivers license sometime in the next 2 months.
So just wanted to know if I am eligible for the license or will I have to wait for the extension to clear before I apply for it, coz it seems they would need an end date for the issuance of the license.

P.S. I haven't had the drive test yet. Cleared the written.

Driving licenses will be issued only till your latest I-94 expiry date. Once you get your renewal, you will have to renew the licenses again. So you can either do that or wait for the extension and then get the license.
