  • Dependent visa for my mother against my H1B visa

    Hello,

My application for H1B through my employer has been approved as a valid case this year. I am due for visa stamping now. The situation is that I have my widowed mother who is dependent on me. I will not be able to leave her as she is also having the cervical spondolydois issue.

    1. Is there any visa through which my mother can come along with me.
    2. Tourist visa is not a good option as that will be for a short period and I am going to be there for a long time.
    3. Can I apply as a dependent visa for her?
    4. Are there no exceptions at all for such cases?

Kindly provide your opinion on this. It is of utmost importance to me.

Unfortunately she is not eligible for a H4 visa, also it may not be easy to get a visitor visa considering that once you leave for US she may not have any other family ties to home country. Are there any other relative who are already a citizen and can file GC for her?

Even if she gets a visitor visa do understand that medical care is extremely high in US, and her pre existing condition may not be covered.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

      Dependent Visa

It will be very difficult for your mother to get approved for a visitors visa with her current situation and it's not possible for her to get a dependent visa on your H1B. If she does get approved to come under a visitors visa there is no insurance that will cover her for her current condition.
