H1B travel expenses

Hello,
I will be arrive to the United States on September 21st (10 days before October first) and was wondering, if it possible to get a tax deduction for travel expenses for me and my wife?
I'm going to buy the flight tickets in the next few days, in my home country - not USA, is it still possible?
If so, do I have to buy one-way tickets? These cost the same, if not more, than round trip tickets.
Would the tax deduction apply to 2015 only?

Some moving expenses are eligible for tax deduction. But it dpeends on a lot of factors such as whether you will be resident for tax purposes or not. One way will of course be more expensive than half of round-trip. Only a tax advisor may be able to advise.
