H1 Amendment & Vacation plan to India - How many days can Stay in India on H1 B

Hi All,

I am started working in US from Jan 2015, I have valid VISA till Sep 2016. Now My employer is applying for H1 B Amendment.
I am planning to visit India in 2nd week of Oct 2015 and would like to be in India till Jan 2016.

How many days we can stay max in India? Can I work from India if Client Agrees? Will this be any issue Port of Entry in US while I am back.
